Today’s forecast.

I have the taste of winning fresh in my mind again as I’ve won 2 in a row. Tonight, we go for 3. The Mets are in desperate need of victories. Luckily for them, their final road series of the season takes place in a ballpark where they haven lost this year and they have Tom Glavine going for them. New York hasn lost at Florida since Sept. 11, 2006, winning all five games at Dolphin Stadium this year. The Mets have a 7-4 overall edge in the season series.

Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran have done the most damage for the Mets in Miami this season. Reyes is 9-for-23 (.391), while Beltran is 8-for-21 (.381) with eight RBIs.

Mets starter Tom Glavine will try for his 304th career victory. Glavine is 2-0 with a 1.30 ERA in his last four starts, and has won six straight decisions in 13 starts since July 2. In his career, though, Glavine is just 7-13 with a 4.33 ERA in 23 starts at Dolphin Stadium. Its the only current NL park where hes made at least five starts in which he owns a losing record. Glavine is facing the Marlins for the second time this year. He allowed two runs and seven hits over 6 1-3 innings and did not get a decision in a 7-5 loss at Shea Stadium on Aug. 11. The left-hander allowed two runs over 7 2-3 innings of a 3-2, 10-inning loss to Philadelphia on Friday.

Marlins outfielder Josh Willingham is 8-for-17 in his career against Glavine. Dontrelle Willis has dominated New York over most of his career, but lost his only outing to the Mets this season by giving up eight runs over five innings in a 9-2 defeat on April 18. He fell to 11-3 with a 2.39 ERA in 17 career starts against New York. Willis has struggled throughout the worst season of his career, and has been particularly bad at home. Hes 3-9 with a 5.59 ERA in 16 starts in Miami, where hes won just once since April.

The left-hander did win his last start on Friday at Colorado despite giving up five runs over six innings, as the Marlins won 7-6. It was just Willis second victory since May.

Take the Mets and get a win today.

Good luck with your action tonight!
